Passionate about film, I blog as La Soeur Lumiére whenever I can find the time.

A lover of all things word-related, I’ve contributed book reviews to independent reading and writing charity Booktrust, won a poetry competition in Spain (Casa de la Juventud, Torrejón) and was runner up in the 2005 Mslexia magazine poetry competition.

I volunteered for cycling and sustainable transport campaigners Sustrans when I lived in Bristol and remain a member. I’m also a member of Railfuture (the organisation campaigning for better rail services), the Bat Conservation Trust and Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

Language & Grammar Geekery

I speak fluent Spanish and rusty Italian. As an adult I’ve studied Latin and ancient Greek and, in my spare time, you can often find me discussing grammar with other word-nerds.
